U.S. calls China’s DeepSeek “Profound” security threat

The U.S. government sees DeepSeek, a Chinese AI company, as a big threat to its national security. U.S. lawmakers say DeepSeek might be secretly gathering personal data from American users and spreading false or biased information. It’s also accused of getting 60,000 Nvidia computer chips illegally and using results from American AI systems to train its own. Sanctions are being considered to limit its access to American tech.
