Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai will take oath as the 52nd Chief Justice of India on May 14, succeeding CJI Sanjiv Khanna, who retires on May 13. Justice Gavai has been serving as the Supreme Court judge since May 24, 2019, and will retire on November 23, 2025.
